Professor Xiaoyan Zhang, Associate Dean of the People’s Bank of China School of Finance, Tsinghua University, Joins SOFR Academy’s Board of Advisors
NEW YORK, June 10, 2021 – SOFR Academy today announced the appointment of Xiaoyan Zhang as a Senior Advisor of the firm, effective immediately. Professor Zhang is the Xinyuan Chair Professor of Finance and Associate Dean at the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University. She also serves as a Deputy Director of both the Tsinghua University National Institute of Financial Research and the Tsinghua Fintech Research Institute, as well as a member of the World Economic Forum’s network of Global Future Councils.
Professor Zhang’s appointment expands SOFR Academy’s Board of Advisors.

Professor Zhang received her Ph.D. in Finance (with honor) from Columbia Business School and her B.A. in Economics from Peking University. After graduation, Professor Zhang first joined the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University as an Assistant Professor of Finance, and later she worked at the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University as Duke Realty Chair Full Professor of Finance. Professor Zhang’s research focuses on international finance, empirical asset pricing and applied econometrics. Her work has appeared in the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies and other leading finance journals.
